We arranged to meet in T2 at 8.30pm and surprisingly none of us were late.
Despite two other TR flights to India (MAA & BLR) scheduled at around the same time, there was almost no queue at check-in. Note: Online check-in wasn’t available on TR flights to India (yet).
After dinner at the air-side food court, it was almost time to board.
Flight: Tiger Airways TR 2648

Aircraft: Airbus A320-200
Seat: 17 F
The load was pretty good with less than 10% of the seats empty. There were crying babies at both ends of the plane, promising a not so restful four and a half hour flight.
Despite only being in operation for a year and a half (delivered brand-new to TR in Sep 2011), there were already signs of wear and tear.
Did my usual rummaging through the seat pocket again:-
Despite the wailing kids, I managed to fall asleep and woke up around half an hour out of COK. Really like flights where I slept most of the way.
Our first steps into the terminal were greeted by a moment of blackout. Welcome to India.
Despite getting off the plane quite early, it still took us quite long to clear the immigration and customs.
One of the first things we noticed was that many local men wear really short lungis.
Unlike arriving in DEL, Kochi felt underwhelming. There were no hassles from touts and we got our taxi to Fort Kochi through the pre-paid taxi counter (1100 INR) effortlessly.
Too easy really. Little did we know what was awaiting us on arrival at Fort Kochi…
