The bus ferried us to a Swiss BAe Avro RJ100 parked at a remote stand. Swiss remains one of the biggest operators of Avro RJs and this was my first time getting on this aircraft type.
Flight: Swiss International Airlines LX 1637
Depart: Milan Malpensa (MXP) – 20:35
Arrive: Zurich (ZRH) – 21:25
Distance: 126 miles
Aircraft: BAe Avro RJ100
Seat: 17 A
The aircraft had a 2-3 seating configuration and we got the two seats on the left side of the aisle.
The distance between MXP and Zurich was only 126 miles; it was also officially my shortest flight. The crew (seemed to be Italians) only had time to distribute a bottle of water and the signature chocolates.
Since it was a night flight there wasn’t any Alps view. I flipped through the duty-free catalog and a Swatch watch caught my eye.
I decided to check out the price at ZRH before deciding whether I would buy it.
We spent probably less than 10 minutes cruising before the captain came on the PA and announced that we would be descending. During the descent, I could make out the outline of Zürichsee due to the lights of the buildings along its coast.
